The Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation announced the full list of winners for the 2022 Alaska Symphony of Seafood on Thursday, February 24, including three top prizes for Edmonds, Washington-based Alaskan Leader Seafoods.

Wild-caught Alaskan black cod in a Japanese miso marinade from Alaskan Leader Seafoods won Seattle People’s Choice and Juneau People’s Choice. Alaskan Leader’s Wild Caught Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon also won the top Bristol Bay Choice award, chosen by the competition partner and presenting sponsor, Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association.

“Alaskan Leader has done a great job of highlighting the quality of Bristol Bay Sockeye, something our fleet has worked extremely hard to improve and nurture season after season,” said Lilani Dunn, marketing manager for the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association. . “The Alaska Symphony of Seafood has a long tradition in our industry, and the BBRSDA is thrilled to be a partner and to have our own category.”

The winners then took the whole show to Boston earlier this week for Seafood Expo North America’s Seafood Excellence Awards.

“For the first time, we’re especially proud to say that three of the Symphony’s first-place winners are among the top 10 finalists in the Seafood Excellence Awards, a national competition,” said Julie Decker, executive director of Alaska Fisheries. Development Foundation. “It demonstrates that Alaska’s seafood industry is a national leader in product innovation and that the Alaska Symphony of Seafood is a great path to a national stage.”

All six new Alaskan Leader Seafoods products were available in booth 1647 at Seafood Expo North America at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The event took place from March 13 to 15.
