Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) and Bristol Bay Alaska Seafoods, LLC (BBAS) are pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Peterson as President of Bristol Wave Seafoods, LLC (Bristol Wave), a subsidiary of BBAS. Peterson took up his new role on January 11, 2022, alongside David Little, who will serve as chief executive.

Bristol Wave manages sales and operations for BBAS’ nine-vessel fleet, which was formed in 2019 when Clipper Seafoods and Blue North Fisheries merged their operations and BBNC acquired a majority stake in the combined company.

Peterson holds an MBA from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and served on the advisory board of the North Pacific Fisheries Management Council for nine years. He has fished Clipper Seafoods vessels for over 10 years and has worked in sales since 2015, with responsibility for quality and production planning as well as several key customer relationships.

Little, founder of Clipper Seafoods, has been president of the operating companies since the 2019 merger and is an integral part of the succession planning process. “Joel is the perfect candidate to take over the leadership of Bristol Wave,” said Little. “It’s actually a legacy rental; Joel’s father was an early captain of Clipper Seafoods and a longtime Clipper director and shareholder,” Little added. “I have great confidence in Joel and I’m extremely happy to see him take on such an important role.”

“I’m thrilled with this opportunity,” Peterson said. “I have worked towards this goal for many years and am determined to see that Bristol Wave continues to have the best maintained fleet in our industry, a reputation for the highest quality of sustainably harvested groundfish and the best trained and safest. crews.

“I appreciate the work that Clipper Seafoods and Blue North management have done to merge these two great companies into BBAS and its operating company, Bristol Wave Seafoods, over the past several years,” said Jason Metrokin, President and CEO of BBNC. “BBNC looks forward to working with Joel in his new role as he navigates this operation into the future.”
