Manchester’s Best Spots Serving Vegan Food For Veganuary

It’s officially 2022, and while the weather can be cold and gloomy, many of us are starting the New Year off on the right foot by jumping into Veganuary.

The month-long challenge, which has been around for a few years now, sees people trying to eat only vegan foods for the thirty-one days of January.

Yes, not a single piece of meat or dairy for a whole month.

But if you dread your own vegan, fear not! Because there are a ton of restaurants here in Manchester offering delicious herbal options that will make your month a whole lot easier.

Here is what is on offer …

We just couldn’t rule out Bundobust from a list of fantastic meatless dishes; While the popular Indian street food restaurant, which recently opened its own brasserie on Oxford Road, offers a strictly vegetarian menu, it also offers some great dairy-free alternatives.

Vegan highlights include Bhel Puri, a Mumbai street snack made with broken samosa paste, puffed rice, peas, onions, pomegranate seeds, and tomato. There’s also the Bhaji Butty, Bundobust’s savory version of a plant-based burger, and the Chole Saag, a spicy curry of cooked chickpeas and spinach.

Found in the YES concert hall-dining hall hybrid, king of “vegan junk food” Doner Summer is truly changing the game of meatless burgers; I mean, look at those burgers!

Available both in and out, Doner Summer offers a selection of kebabs and burgers without meat or dairy products, including the Bad Girl Kebab consisting of “doner”, chicken with garlic, marinated pink cabbage, salad and a whole bunch of tasty and garlic sauces.

There’s also a choice of ‘chick’n’ fried burgers that are good enough to fool even the most seasoned KFC patrons.
