  • What are MIGHTY Foods and the idea behind its creation?

MIGHTY Foods is a ready-to-cook, ready-to-eat plant-based protein food line. Being one of the few companies in India to have a fully integrated production and research facility in Mumbai, we serve a wide range of artisanal and handcrafted fast food items that cater to the changing Indian palate. Through such product offerings, MIGHTY strives to treat and overcome the severe protein deficiency among Indians.

  • The growth of the plant-based food industry and the expected future?

The F&B industry has recently seen several trends, one of which is the growing popularity of plant-based foods. In the battle against COVID-19, protein has become an essential macronutrient during recovery. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike are now ready to experiment with plant-based diets because they get the taste of meat and protein from a plant-based source completely guilt-free. The potential of plant-based food companies complements that of real meat, which has given this industry momentum. However, there are several following factors that contribute to the growth of plant-based foods:

a) Rise of the flexitarian lifestyle – A flexitarian is someone who eats a vegetarian lifestyle in addition to occasional meals of meat and fish. One of the reasons plant-based foods appeal to all types of consumers, especially flexitarians, is their taste and flavor. Whether plant-based meat, dairy, or seafood, the ability to mimic the tastes and flavors of real meat products appeals to flexitarians.

b) Plant-Based Food Innovation – Constant research and development in the taste, flavor and texture of plant-based foods is increasing the demand for the ideal high-protein, healthier-than-diet diet. full meaty, but just as tasty as meat could get. This leads a significant portion of our clientele to opt for a total transition to plant-based diets.

c) Plant-based snacks – It goes without saying that snacks should be tasty. With plant-based foods also creating popular delicious snacks in Indian households, it is a win-win situation for consumers conscious of their eating habits. They are now realizing the nutritional benefits of grains, beans, nuts, and seeds, and welcoming the surprisingly delicious food products created from them.

  • What challenges will be solved by the brand and the strategies adopted to meet expectations?

Globally, there is a huge gap in the availability of plant-based foods that suit the Indian palate. This opens up a great opportunity for Indian players to explore. The pandemic has prompted many people to adopt a more organic, plant-based diet that includes nutraceuticals or supplements that fight chronic disease. The adoption of such diets has gained popularity across the world and is accelerating in India as well. MIGHTY intends to meet the emerging needs of Indians and their protein deficiencies through its proposed products.
