Rolling Roots vegan food truck closes after series of attacks

Rolling Roots, a vegan food truck, is closing its doors for good after a series of attacks that ended in arson. The food truck was set on fire and was ultimately unrecoverable, forcing the owner to close it for real.

Founder of Rolling Roots Chief Avonte Hartsfield said: “The food truck was the main source of income for my business, and it’s truly a devastating loss that we’ve had reservations almost every day for the next couple of months! “

Authorities are investigating the blaze as arson is strongly suspected after a series of attacks on the food truck.

After so much community support, Hartsfield created a GoFundMe page in an effort to increase $ 100,000. He received $ 23,000 at 10 p.m. the same day.

Hartsfield said, “My food truck has been broken into and vandalized on several occasions. Throughout the ordeal, my power cords were cut, my office and my truck were broken into and items were stolen, a noose was hanging from my office door and finally, on October 3, my truck was completely set on fire. Police are investigating right now, but no witnesses have come forward, and there doesn’t appear to be much hope of holding anyone accountable. “

Hartsfield had recently bought a restaurant to expand, but without his food truck he is strapped for funds. He said, “Now I have a new location that I have no idea how I’m going to be able to open and no income from our food truck.”

Fortunately, Hartsfield is on the verge of achieving his goal of allowing him to continue to grow his vegan restaurant. If you want to help him, you can support him in his GoFundMe page.
