Michigan St. … An outpost of Salt & Straw, Portland, Oregon’s cult ice cream shop has opened in Disney Springs… Ga 2 GB, a Soup Mills 50 restaurant featuring a menu of northern Vietnamese street food has opened at 1216 E. Colonial Drive. The specialty is mine ga, or chicken soup with mung bean noodles, served in a setting that faithfully reproduces meals on the streets of Hanoi (minus the tuktuks)…

The courtesy bar will close its downtown premises on May 15 and move in next to the foxtail farm at 1282 N. Orange Ave. in Winter Park. pigs and sons also plans to join the cocktail bar in the newly renovated space dubbed the “Winter Park Social House.” Swine & Sons owners Rhys and Alexia Gawlak will move from their current space inside the Local Butcher & Marketplace and serve Southern dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as small bites at the new Courtesy Bar in a sub-concept called BarSwine. Kelly’s homemade ice cream will also have a space in the building… Bagels and New York delicatessens to open a location in the former Subway space at 2008 E. Colonial Drive near Hampton Ave. in Colonialtown… Anejo Cocina Mexicana will open this week in Dexter’s former New Standard space in the Ravaudage complex in Winter Park… In Longwood, look for another Twistee Candy to open near the intersection of State Road 434 and Highway 17-92. Expect an opening mid-May… Papasan’s Vietnamese cuisine, “St. Cloud’s first Vietnamese restaurant”, opened at 1358 S. Narcoossee Road… Good Butter Pastry will open to the public on the second Saturday of every month selling their scrumptious croissants, financiers, pain au chocolat, butter bombs, cookies and more in their kitchen area at 110 Live Oaks Blvd. in Casselberry. Executive Chef of Financier Bistro Theo Goupil oversees bakery operations.

NEWS + EVENTS: Chef Hari Pulapaka, formerly of Cress Restaurant in DeLand, will host a fundraiser for Ukrainian humanitarian aid at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 at the Deltona Center. The dinner will feature John Rivers (4Rivers Smokehouse), Kevin Fonzo (Edible Education Experience), Toni Elkhouri (Cedar’s Cafe), Barry Honan (former student at Le Bernardin), Tonda Corrente (La Femme du Fromage) and Chef Pulapaka. Tickets are $100, with proceeds going to the World Central Kitchen… Golden Beef Bao will appear at GB’s Bottle Shop in Ivanhoe Village at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, featuring homemade dumplings, lo mein and marinated pork belly or tofu bao, plus a special from Eliot Hillis of Orlando Meats: spicy chicken meatballs with hand-cut noodles.
